Amazon

The Amazon is a unique area that offers experiences which you don’t get anywhere else on the planet. With its amazing natural riches and enormous size, it fully lives up to the description of the "lung" of the world.

Amazonas is the largest province in Brazil, sharing the name of the rainforest that covers most of its area. The rainforest is the largest eco-system in the world, with the greatest biodiversity.
This means that great experiences and surprises await the visitor when moving down the complicated river system which makes up the great Amazon River.
While slowly drifting down the river you can glimpse alligators, monkeys, parrots in fantastic colours, and a rich variety of other wildlife. The region also has Brazil’s highest mountain: Pico da Neblina at 2994 metres.

The people who inhabit the region mainly live in the regional capital of Manaus, which is the starting point for most tours to the Amazon area.

A number of different trips are available, getting close to the region's wildlife. Trekking is also a offered, taking you through an incredible variety of landscapes: not only thick rainforest but also open country, extensive swamps and huge sand banks.
